What have you done to bring in additional income as a stay at home parent?
justme asked:
I have quit my job and will be staying home for awhile. I am thinking of ways to cut costs like cooking meals at home (potential savings = $500 monthly in eat out tabs). I will be selling some of our old clothes and toys on Ebay (3 kids = lots of old clothes and toys). Is there anything else you have done to make ends meet (except hokey stay at home business ideas = money down the tube). Watching more children is also not an option as I already have three of my own!

I worked outside of the home until my son was born 14 1/2 months ago. I recently began selling Premier Designs High Fashion Jewelry. They have been around for 22 years. Their jewelry is high quality with a Golden Guarantee. If you could be away from your home a couple nights a week, you can do this business. It would still allow you to be home with them during the day. I think it is a perfect balance. I make 50% of every piece of jewelry I sell at full retail. They have wonderful training. When you join you become part of a family. I have a jewelry mom, grandmother, greatmother and so on. They are all super supportive. They sincerely want me to do well. When you sponsor people and you sell the required amount of jewelry per month, you receive 10% of your downline’s profit. No gimmicks. Their hostess plan is the best in the industry. Hostesses receive 30% of their show’s retail total in free jewelry. All they have to pay is $4 shipping and sales tax on the free jewelry. I had never even considered doing something like this and it just fell into my lap. Hopefully, I have done the same for you. You can visit their website at. Good luck!!

Online paid surveys is an easy way to get started. However, there are many scammed programs out there. You can try this site for a legitimate survey review. I have joined the No.1 recommended survey program and make about $1000 in the first month for a 2-hours effort daily. The money will increase soon as I receive more surveys opportunities from more companies.
It cost about $40 to join but I make more than the $40 paid on the very first day of joining.

I noticed you said “Stay at home” and most jobs require that you go out to meet people and do party plans. It is extremely difficult to earn any money working out of your home unless you have a huge family, lots of friends and organizations that you belong to whom you don’t mind asking to buy your products regularly. Ebay is not as easy as it seems. I tried selling clothes and now that the shipping costs have gone up so high it is actually cheaper to go to a store that is having a sale. Ebay and Paypal have too many charges that you will spend more time then it is worth. People are also only looking for certain brands with the tags on. I used to buy my daughter’s clothes and toys on eBay but now have found it to be too expensive. People no longer wanted to purchase either.
As for surverys online, I have yet to make more then $100 in a year and many take more then 30 minutes to fill out. Once I received $100 and once a sport bottle. If you need to count on this money I would not count on surveys. The person before me even said he just started.
Are there any hobbies or crafts or something that you are good at that are sellable? Is there any online service you could provide or learn to provide? Many woman online could use help with their businesses such as Virtual Assistant, Web Designer, Solo Ad Placement, eBook Writers. Is there something you have knowledge about that you could write about and sell?
I have been online making 25% which takes a long time to add up if I cannot get out and have regular parties; if you can find a product you beleive in; try it. I have a few in mind. I would skip eBay and have a huge rummage sale instead or find another FREE auction site. Also I wouldn’t waste my time surfing all day for merchandise and points.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Please…PLEASE make sure you dont spend a cent trying to make money online before you have earnt a lot of money online because it just isnt neccesary.
There are SOOOOOOOO many work at home opportunities that a) arent scams and b) dont cost a red cent to take part in but they will make you money if you’re prepared to work at them.
Ebay is great and in all likelihood you will make some good money selling off your second hand stuff. Check out garage sales etc for bargains that can be resold for profit on ebay.
That being said you should consider ebay just one possible stream of income. You need more. As many as possible actually.
One of the best once you get it going is reviewed here:
It requires work. Is totally legit. And doesnt cost a cent to take part in. If you’re prepared to put some time into it 1000-2000 per month is not out of the question.
But remember you want as many ways for money to come in as possible. But dont spend any money on any programs until you are making more than enough for you to be able to afford them.

You can give tuition to the kids in the neighbourhood, get them to come over to your house. You can specialize in some bakery, make sure you really make it well, know what will sell like hot cakes, and spread the word. If you are a cupcake specialist, then go and learn everything abt it. Market yrself.

I work for a new home based company that is 100% free and totally different. It’s legitimate and not like anything else around. There is nothing to sell, no meetings, and all the tools are free. It’s an honest company with good morals and we are trying to help everyone who wants to work at home and make some extra money. Again it’s free so you have nothing to lose.
It is possible to work for an honest company, at home with no cost. No matter what people may say. Let me know if you want more info.

You could also do something like sell Tupperware, or Mary Kay. My sister sells Party Lite candles, she brings in a few hundred dollars a month without much effort.

You are on the right track!! Good Job!! Another suggestion might be yard or garage sales. They might not provide steady income, but they are income nonetheless…….
