How could I work from home in a city where I would have to put over half my pay check into the gas tank to go?

I am in a medium sized city where they types of jobs I would get are over an hours drive away. I would like to be able to work from home.
I am trained to be an Administrative Assistant. The types of positions that breaks down to are data entry, receptionist, file clerk, Administrative Assistant, and Machine Transcriptionist. The last one I am not good at so it is not an option.
