It’s almost over! asked:
I have to go back to work after my leave is up once my baby is born. I wish I could stay home but it’s not going to be an option. I sometimes think I might get bored if I stayed home any way. Do you women somtimes wish you were back at work?

My wife’s the opposite. She’s back working and wishes she could stay home.

I do sometimes. Only because the extra money would be nice.

Understand 100%. I’ve been off of work for 2 months now. And I have 3 months of maternity leave. I could go back to work now !. But on the other hand I will miss my baby soooooooooooo much. Its the whole women thing you really can’t have it all. I love working and I want to be able to send my kid to college one day and let him to activities and have fun at camp and so forth. And if I don’t work then he wont get to do all that fun stuff later on in life. Its a decision that my husband and I made together.

I worked before having my two kids and now I have been a stay at home mom for 4 years and I love it. I will however go back to work once both of my kids are in school, but for the time being I am completely happy being at home with them.

Im still working.. but I have had times where I take like 2 or 3 weeks off. I get a little bored, and its nice to go back to work and see everyone that I work with.. but that only last like a day. I would rather stay home..

My daughter is now 13 weeks. For the first few weeks I was glad to be home and then i went through the, I need adult contact, stage. But now, I love being home with her. I make sure we don’t stay home everyday all day. We take little trips and switch up our routine. The key is to stay busy.

I miss the people I worked with and my students…and my paycheck. I would not want to be there EVERY morning and have to be there all day, though. I also wouldn’t want to miss out on the time with my baby.

I have been home for 3 months now ( my daughter is 12 weeks old) and so wish to be back at work. However, I think many women are torn. It’s really a decision only an individual can make. I love my daughter, but I also enjoyed my job (teaching).
Unfortunately, my husband has been working long days lately, and often I feel like a single parent, trying to entertain the baby 12 hours a day on my own (in addition to those mid-night feedings). Those are the type of days that have me longing to be back at work. My daughter is beautiful, but tends to be fussy, especially in the evening. It was the time usually when my husband use to come home. Now, he doesn’t get home until after she’s asleep (and leaves in the morning before she gets up).

I stayed home with my son for 4months and I came back to work because I was going insane.. Hubby wanted me home but I just couldn’t.. It was way too much and I was sick of being home all day long.. So yeah.. That’s me! My son is now 8mo and I’m working and very happy
But since hubby keeps asking me to I might go back to staying home soon.. We’ll see.. I do miss my son

Yes, sometimes I do. Although I have two children now (a 4 year old and a 6 week old) and they keep me pretty busy. If anything I just miss working just because of the social aspect. I miss real adult conversations. My husband travels for a living so it gets pretty lonely sometimes…
