CareBear asked:
I am curious.
What age would you let your teen stay home alone for a night?
Or atleast until about 3 or 4 in the morning?
Why?

well-
my parents went on a one-day trip once, and since my sister [15 then, 16 now] was at some church overnight thing, they let me stay home.
I was/ am 17.

As long as the kid isn’t going to set the house on fire, knows all the emergency numbers, and can take care of themselves, it is probably fine. My parents first let me stay home overnight alone when I was 14. I think that’s about a good age.

I waited till my daughter was 16, but that was due to her maturity. My son started staying alone at 14 but he was more responsible.

13 is the legal age of a babysitter, so if my daughter can watch a child by herself then she can be by herself at home.

It all depends on the teen’s maturity.
Although a good age would be 14 or 15.
But as I said before it all depends on the teen’s maturity level.
Cause if they can take care of themselves, they know all the emergency numbers, won’t set the house on fire, & pretty much know how to take care of themselves.
Then whenever the teen knows how to do all of what I said above, then that’s the age.
It could be as early as 13 or it could be as late as 16.

13-14…but explain the rules completely, and check in every hour or two.
