Globe asked: I’m looking at buying a variable or equity annuity and am curious what the broker commission is. I’ve read stuff that there is a recurring commission (ie: 1st year, 2nd year, etc) but how does that work if I only put money in up front? Or do I have to put money in annually? I’m looking at Allianz and Prudential products.

Anastacia asked: lets say you collected cash for commissions from clients for properties sold the prior month. What would you debit and what would you credit?
This is for a realty Corporation. I chose a debit to cash and a credit to commissions revenue. I am not sure if that answer is correct because this is all to confusing to me at the moment.

deeze asked: I am starting an IT consulting business and as with most startups, money is tight.
Do you think we can get a good salesperson if we offer no base but good commissions with recurring income? We will be offering 30% of the margin on each sale and since the contract is monthly the salesperson will be getting recurring commission each month the customer renews.
While we have no real data to base it on, we feel the commission potential for a good sales guy should be in the $100k+ range.
Is that attractive enough to hire a talented salesperson?
Thank you for the answers so far.
Just to clarify we would be covering the salesperson’s traveling expenses.
