How do I start an online business?
Don’t Blame me asked:
I would like to start selling wholesale body jewelry online as a side gig. I am currently a college student so making some extra cash would be nice. I have a distributor that I buy from but would like some advise on how to actually set up an online store as well as any steps I would need to take as far as taxes and business licenses go. Also how would I set up payments for credit card processing? Thanks in advance.

Ebay has the ability to set you up in an online store, host it and get you setup with Paypal to process credit cards.
Its not a perfect solution but you don’t have to do as much donkey work.

godaddy.com has a relatively easy service.
You could get a free blog on wordpress.com and use a free paypal account to get started until you are ready to pay for a pro site.

The best route to go is ebay. You can even set up store for your products on ebay. 90% of the population that wants to get something for a reasonable price searches for it on ebay. It also solves your payment issue since they have paypal set up to accept all payments for your transactions.

You can make some extra money taking surveys. It’s only about $100 per week but they don’t try to charge you anything or ask for a credit card. I have posted pictures of the payments I received, as proof.

You want to choose a name, when you do this you will first have to find out if any one else is using the name already, then create a website and all of that good stuff, you can either do it your self or have someone do it for you, you can also save a lot of headache and sell on e bay, after you show you are a serious seller you get perks and you do not have to worry about getting people to go to your site because everyone goes to e bay first to find stuff nowadays they take care of all the little things and they have dropped thier fees to hardly nothing, your payments will be secured through paypal if you want so you don’t get burned and you will get mad exposure, being a student you want this to be smooth , taxes are filed as a business owner and you get a lot of write offs, all of your expences are written off so that helps Good Luck

If you would like to have your own online store you will have to be willing to invest in your business. The first step is to come up with a name for your business directly related to the products you are selling. Secondly you would need to set up a domain name which should be chosen carefully to complement what you are promoting. This can be done at, which is a domain name registrar, for a cost of about $10.00. Discount coupons can also be found by looking up godaddy coupons on google and using the code at checkout that best applies to you. Then you would need to set up domain name hosting for your website. This can also be done at godaddy or you can shop around for the registrars with the best price. Unless you are educated in web design you would also need to hire someone to design a website for you using a script for an online store. All of these initial steps could run you close to $1000.00 of out of pocket expense. As for a business licensed and taxes, if you are serious it would be a good thing to register a business at your local business office. Once you have done so, an excellent way to minimize the taxes you pay is to save all the receipts for all items you have spent money on relating to you business, such as your jewelry, domain, website, advertising, food, gas, telephone, fax etc. All these things will go against your income and decrease or prevent you from paying taxes. Also Payment for credit card processing would also be part of your web design script, so if you get someone to do it you just have to tell them exactly what you want.
All the best in your business venture. I hope I was of help to you
