Would you be willing to have a large portion of your income taxed to pay for Obama’s ideas?

That’s what it costs in Sweden and what many have projected his “social” programs will cost here if he’s elected.
In Sweden you have to pay 70% of your income to pay for the social programs compared to America’s 30% to taxes.

Why not? Americans are, already, paying for a useless war.

NO, the money would just be misused! I see no need in paying in more for even more irregularity and bickering amongst the parties in Congress….

    No
That is something people are not thinking about is that Obama wants much higher taxes and we are all going to pay for it in one form or another.

He taxes oil companies they will pass that cost unto us.

If you like higher taxes Obama is your man.

Obama would not be able to implement all of his programs. There would be too much opposition. It depends. If we get something real in return then I don’t have a problem with it. A lot of people were against social security and medicare. I have a real problem with Bush downgrading the American dollar. Thanks to him and company our money is worth less today than it was 8 years ago. You should also consider that. Who is better to uphold the value of your money?

No, I prefer paying all my taxes for Cheney’s war for oil with a bunch of people who did nothing for us. That sounds like a better idea to me.

Hilariously, your info is once again incorrect. In fact, Obama has stated he will keep most of the Bush tax cuts for the lower half of earners.

The only people that will pay more are the insanely wealthy.

HELL NO! Technically I’m already a slave to the the government for almost 1/3rd of the year. Why would I want to make that even worse? In socialism everyone is a slave to everyone. You work to help take care of everybody. And then healthcare has such a long waiting list that people rarely get proper care. The lazy get to live about as well as the hard-working. It’s harder to get people into the higher demanded healthcare system because those people are practically paying to do their stressful job. Who wants that? If you had to pay to go to your job, would you still go? Or would you rather have an easy job that provides just as good a standard of living? Socialism does not work! It doesn’t account for human need for reward. These liberals that support it have no idea what they are talking about. They need to stop being fed propaganda from the liberal media and maybe do a little research straight from the people living in these conditions…

Myles D you might want to check your info again
here’s what your empty suit will do for America
Yes, Mr O plans to give illegal aliens (lawbreakers) citizenship, free college tuition, free medical care & health insurance, Social Security, and he is going to raise income taxes substantially on all households with an income of $30,000 and up. Of course, even with substantially higher income, Social Security taxes, “windfall profits taxes” on your retirement savings & sale of your home, & all other taxes, he will still bankrupt the US, destroy what is left of the medical system, and none of us will have any health care, education, retirement savings, etc.

If your household has $30,000 income, your federal income taxes will increase @$5000/yr in his 1st year (more than double current rates of @$4600), and double taxes again before 2012. If you have saved a 401k, IRA, or anything else for your current retirement, he plans to take about half (to start with) in addition to all existing taxes. And if you sell your house, he wants 42 percent.
Of course, his current household income is in excess of $500,000 a year, and I’m wondering how he plans to get around paying taxes, since he is not about to pay these increased taxes himself.

Better yet why don’t we have these guys pay theirs? Then this whole issue is moot.

What does a 35 percent corporate tax mean if no one pays it? BTW under Bush I paid over $21,000 last year in taxes or enough for a new car and I didn’t make anywhere near $100 grand while a rich guy paid less as a percentage of his income. That’s what Obama’s talking about.

Social programs are nowhere near what we blow on the military. Key word BLOW. 2 bombers crashed a few months ago. 1 was $1.4 BILLION the other $283 MILLION. Yeah $1.683 BILLION BLOWN alright. In perspective 8 million Americans could have got a $200 physical. Which would you prefer a $1.683 BILLION pile of trash and useless parts or see a fellow America actually get something out of it?

The military has a $500 BILLION budget. All 300 million Americans could get a $200 physical and the military would still have $440 BILLION to burn. This is smoke and mirrors and misdirection big time. The Republican stock in trade. 35 percent corporate tax rate my butt. Like the article says most don’t pay anything anyway. Look at Walmart’s sales and see how much tax they actually paid. More like 5 percent maybe. That’s a welfare program alright. A huge welfare program. Benefitting Walmart not even their underpaid workers. FYI Walmart deliberately pays their workers less so they can qualify for medicare and welfare that way they don’t have to offer benefits. Talk about creating the conditions promoting a social program and in the same breathe knocking it. Real cute.

McCain is still talking less corporate tax. Hell they don’t pay anything now. Look nothing is free and if no one wants to pay taxes than we shouldn’t expect anything either. That includes the overpriced military. Americans need to wise up to this no tax and social program crap. All b.s.

Edit: High wage earners have various legal means to get around paying taxes as the above article/link points out.
Deferring bonuses is one way, shell companies is another to name 2.
