well, what’s your background/skill set? I’m a stay-at-home-mom and I was thinking of doing some freelance writing down the road. You could do that. I know people who are in advertising/marketing who do freelance work from home. Check out your local Craigslist to see if there are any opportunities.

Sell second hand items on Ebay and Craigslist. This is a time consuming job.

A close friend of mine works for service800.com Her mom and aunt do it too. You can do it from home, and its totally legit. You dont have to PAY to work there, they are a REAL employer. You get raises periodically, and can pick your hours. I just applied there a couple days ago myself! Just go to to see what the job qualifications are. Hope this helps!
You could also try baby-sitting a couple older children (easier to take care of than babies, so you can still have time for your own kids). Check the laws in your state. Its legal to watch a certain ammount of children without any licences, etc.

Are you willing to invest a little money into something? You could try Career Step.com A few friends of mine completed the program and now work from home and love it. Also another friend of mine, started her own business with SMC. This also requires a little money to get started, but does pay for itself in the end.

I’m a stay-at-home of two toddler boys… I worked in the evening part-time at a dept. store and on some weekends… It was nice to get out and socialize among peers AND I got a good discount… I was just recently laid-off so now I clean my friends house for $100 a week… I go over there for 2 hours a day and tidy up, unload/load the dishwasher, vacuum, dust and clean the common areas of the house.. I get paid under the table and make MORE than I did at the dept store! So, maybe try housesitting for a neighbor/friends or house/pet sitting- dog walker things of that nature.. I’m also this summer caring for or looking after a friends teenager(s) for a few hours in the day while she’s at school…! I’ll make $20 a day just doing that!
Good luck

I operate my own business out of my house, a licensed in-home daycare center. It’s easy to get licensed with not a lot of start-up costs. I am my own boss and get to play with kids all day! Call your local Child Care Resource and Referral center and they will give you all the info you need, including when and where the next orientation is and what to bring. I love my job and I don’t have to leave my home to do it, and I make pretty good money doing it!

Well have you really looked at your finances carefully? Realize if you become a SAHM mom you will likely save on
1.childcare- add up how much you spend on it a month
2.gas/ or transportation- depending now how far you commute this might save you a lot money
3. dry cleaning or extra money for professional clothing
4. lunches out- as a SAHM mother your will likely spend far less on going out
5. dinner out- once again as a SAHM you likely not spend as much on dinners out because cooking will be a bit easier
Furthermore once I stopped working I realized I had time to comparison shop and use coupons. When I was working I rarely had time to shop for a good deal. And many SAHM mothers find it easier to breastfeed and breastfeed longer. That might save you some money on formula,
If you add it up (depending on how much you make now) you might realize that you don’t need any each income (or very little) Good luck on whatever choice you make.

You can do affiliate marketing on the web. It’s easy and there are thousands of good blogs out there to get info. You won’t have to assemble pens, pack vitamins or any of that junk. Building a website is also fun and creative. NO SURVEYS or any of that win an ipod, or get a free laptop stuff. I know how you feel.
Good Luck!

I’m a stay at home dad with two daughters. They are 4 and 5 now. I got started doing Affiliate Marketing 2 years ago. When i started I fell prey to several get rich quick schemes, doing surveys, building websites that got no traffic and no sales. Also tried advertising on Google and others.
I lost a lot of money at first. Then I found a legitimate Internet Marketing Community called Wealthy Affiliate. They have all of the tools that you will need to build a successful Affiliate Marketing business online.
8 week action plan: A-Z of internet marketing. Includes tutorials, step by step videos, weekly homework(yes homework that makes you money)
WA Forum: an awesome community of people who are making money online doing affiliate marketing. Some people are new to the game and some make thousands per month. This alone is worth the $39 per month.
Site Rubix: Website building tools
Pre Built web sites: no code needed, they teach you to market the sites you follow the instructions and make money.
Keyword generation, research and phrase building tools. You could spend from $30 – $100 for these alone online.
Clickbank research tools: find the best products to sell on clickbank, the right way. Don’t pick the ones with high return rates.
I could go on but you can decide if for yourself by getting the free guide to intenet marketing at this site.
Good luck with whatever you choose. I love being a stay at home and i’m sure you will too.

Hi. My name is Lisa and I’m a stay at home mom to two wonderful children, ages 2 and 6. They keep me busy, but I love every minute of it!
I wasn’t always a stay at home mom, however. Before having my second child, I had a great job that paid me well enough that I could afford childcare. But after having my second child, my income couldn’t justify the cost of childcare any longer.
I have been searching for a work at home job for the past two years. This has proven very difficult to find, as most advertisements I’ve come across have been scams! That was until I saw an ad on a car that was parked at the zoo. I visited the website and requested more information.
I am so lucky to have found this wonderful opportunity to work from home with my kids by my side. Not only have I found a legitimate work at home job, but it has also helped me go GREEN and earn GREEN while doing it. Let me help you do the same!
