Any extra income ideas please folks, serious ones only please?

income ideas
gh7432 asked:

i am 28 and have worked since the age of 15. I have a house a car, partner, young boy and would like to have more kids but our income only really allows us to live comfortably which I have worked hard for and I am gratefull for but like most of the world I am left with very little money for other things…. i would like to have that extra little bit of money to treat my girlfriend and start planning for another baby etc. etc… any ideas for a second income??? i did sell concert tickets on ebay and managed a tidy profit of £160 on some arctic monkeys tickets but I genuinely didnt feel good ripping music fans off and the tickets go on sale during working hours making it difficult to sit and keep trying to get through to the ticket office.. i work 8 – 6 so have evenings and weekends to try and make a second income work. any second income ideas or your own success stories are welcome… thanks
i have good hands on skills as I actually completed a four year bricklaying apprenticeship…. I grafted like mad for four years through the cold winters then got laid off once I had completed my training and was due big bucks… this knocked my confidence and I wanted to get away from construction sites and I have worked my way up for a national company and I am now a Depot Supervisor looking after four workers and running the depot…………… so i do also have some office based, management skills aswell

Well congratulations! I smell ambition in you. That’s most of the work cut out for us. All i can recommend is that you look at what you love and know. You’re more likely to succeed if you are dealing what you know better than anyone. The answer might be too close for you to notice it.

ebay is probably the best way unless you want to take a part time job, how about selling dvds? they will always be in demand, try , i’ve bought from them before and made profit on ebay.

I suggest shopping around for cool things at local yardsales and selling them on ebay. (My dad found some old medical posters (in good shape) in the dumpster and sold them on ebay for $1000!, which proves everything is worth something to someone on ebay!) I have a friend that makes good money doing the yardsale/ebay thing. Breeding expensive dogs would be another way to make extra $$. Think of the other skills you have too. For example, some people give piano/music lessons for extra income, or walk dogs, or babysit small groups of kids. Also, I’ve seen advertisements in the past that say you can get paid to take surveys online because the opinion of a consumer is so important to the marketing world. I’m not sure if it’s a legitimate thing or not, but it’s worth looking into. Best wishes!

You could try rounding up some of you and your wifes clothing that you no longer wear, or need and try to sell it on ebay. That might get you some short term cash. It’s kind of a pain in the *ass to ship things, figure out shipping cost, etc. Or, you could have a yard sale. I did this last Summer and a ton of people came and I made some pretty good money. If you have a talent such as painting, or making clothes, jewelry, or something like that you could make things and sell them too. I’m sure with your kid you want to be at home as much as possible. You could do something that involves your wife as well…that way you could spend time together while trying to make some extra money. Other than that, the only other suggestion would be to get a part time job at some place fun like a department store, etc.

Quite an interesting idea is affiliations with other major retailers on the web. If you create your own web page, you can get advertising banners from say amazon. If someone clicks that banner, its registered to give you the commission should they buy anything. You have to get friends, family and anyone else you know to buy from your page. There are hundreds of companies doing this type of thing and if you can think of something to draw people to your own web site, then you could be earning from that while you work and sleep! Also, perhaps your girlfriend could get involved because its nice for you both to work towards getting that dream. A marvellous idea was given to me but I am unable to take it up at the moment and that is selling ‘world handbags’ on line. Lots of very impoverished women in far flung places have their own wee businesses making bags (keeps them in money if they have no partner to help etc). You can buy them cheap from wholesalers and then flog them on your website and do the affliliate thing too. Just an idea.

Hi Ebay is a good way to top up your income but the sellers fees and paypal fees really eat into your profit. I set up my own web store and a mate of mine has done the same. He sells stuff that is from a drop shipper, he only buys the stuff when it’s sold and they deliver it for him. He posts on a great blog site it’s at you can read his posts there or join up its free. We both got our web shop set up and with free web hosting from the AIB The Association of Independent Businesses at worth a look. Good luck.

    Hi!

I have worked the grind in a regular job for close to 3 years, working almost 15 hours a day and realized it was not going to get me anywhere. I am now working from home using the internet and phone and am very happy with my business. My husband and me can now start planning our family soon and this is all thanks to our business.

To be successful in this business you need to put in efforts, commitment and persistence to learn and grow your business. The system is simple but nothing comes easy. You must be prepared to make it work. This can be run part time or full time – that’s not a problem, as long as you commit to putting in a couple of hours a day at least. Check my profile.

    All the best!

    regards,
    namz

I work from home due to being ill for almost 2 years now. I help run our small cleaning business part part and do some work online also. Ebay is definitely a good way to start. We sold some old vinyl records on there and made a nice few quid. Last year we bought a course about a guy from Nebraska who turned $8 million on ebay. He started selling anything at home that was just lying around collecting dust. From there he sourced product from local suppliers that were surplus stock and after that he sourced product from the far east that could be drop shipped. Brilliant course.

You could also try developing your own product. Create a list of what you are passionate about, what you have a lot of knowledge about, something people may come to you for advise on. Then locate a niche market “A group of people who are searching the internet for a solution to a problem and NOT finding many relevant results” There are plenty of ways to do research on this. We are thinking about writing an ebook. This idea came from another course we bought from the same guy. This basically brought you from how to find a hot product to sell on the internet all the way to drive traffic towards your site.

    Hi!

I am a single mom of 2 girls ages 5 and 7. My youngest is disabled (Angelman Syndrome) so I had to learn how to make my money online.

All the programs I use are in my profile. You will find lots of free programs that never cost you a dime and actually pay. That way you can benefit from my experience.

    I hope this helps!
