Do your research to see if there are other things similar to what your trying to do. Then see how much it will cost and who are you targeting. Make your idea stand out. With different types of food etc.
Make sure to come up with a good name!

There are plenty of books out there available in any library, about home-based businesses in general, as well as ones about specific kinds. For example, here’s one on starting a catering businesses at home ( ).

One early step you might want to take is to do some strategic planning and write up a business plan ( ). Whether or not you actually write one out in detail, here are the basic questions you might want to think about:

    - What kind of product(s) or service(s) can you offer? Are you going to make something by your own recipe, or are you going to buy something wholesale and try to resell it?
    - Who would your customers be? Other businesses, or individuals? Will you sell by internet and mail, through stores?
    - Who would you be competing with, and what’s the niche they’re missing that you can fill?
    - How much money do you have to invest? Can you plan out a realistic budget to get your business started?

Whenever you need more advice, look for people with experience. If you’re in the US, you might go to your local Small Business Development Center and talk to an adviser there ( )
    Good luck!

Your question isn’t clear as to what type of business you have planned. Is it a catering business? Selling pre-packaged foods? Will you sell from a web-based location or sell from a room in your home or both? In any event - a business plan is the first thing you need. 1. Where will be business be located. 2. Who is your customer base? 3.Capital? Where will the start up money come from? 4. Advertising - when, where and how often. Where can you get free advertising? 5. Shipping services- How to get the product to the customer 6. What are the products that will sell and what won’t do as well? What is boils down to is the Who, What, Where, When, Why and How!
