I thought I read something about there being some extra income tax rebate this year on our 2008 income return since I collected unemployment benefits this year, does anyone know anything about this???

    The only “extra” on the tax return is the 2nd chance worksheet for the rebate. This is intended only for people who didn’t already get the stimulus–and it required either earned income or a tax bill to get any of it.

    No, there has been an extension of time to collect benefits if you haven’t found a job yet, but not an extra refund/rebate.

    Honestly… there better not be. That’s like getting rewarded with taxpayer money for getting paid with taxpayer dollars.
