If your cell phone’s got some life in it, try putting it up for auction on eBay. That way, you get some cash plus someone else for whom a cell phone is a necessity / luxury might just find your offer useful.
But if you’re looking to turn this into a business of sorts, one place to check is this site:
It might be a green thing to do for a part-time venture.

Oh Jesus…you can probably sell your stupid phone on Craigslist or eBay if you want money. You aren’t going to get anything for it by recycling.
If you wanted to do something for the environment and earn some money…I would take your phone to the local zoo. Often, they have recycling bins you can put it it…then go get a job…

Try community services in your county. Also, the church has plenty of community actions/ volunteer. Try your local newspaper and ask around.

Have you tried or?
I used cellforcash a few years ago, flawless.
They (usually) don’t accept the battery so you still need to dispose of that properly according to your local regulations.
