Cash pre-paid cell phone in the US?

Here in Taiwan, you can go to 7-11 and buy a prepaid SIM card for your cell phone. Every time your account runs out, you can go back to 7-11 and pay cash to recharge your phone. Point is, you pay cash at 7-11 instead of getting a monthly phone bill in the mail. And you pay in advance, so you never owe money. Is there a product like this in the states, where you can go to the store and use cash to pre-pay for your cell phone time?

Uhhhh……. I don’t think so. I haven’t been to a gas station like that. You can buy prepaid SIM cards from T-Mobile or eBay and buy refill CARDS at gas stations and refill your minutes by typing in your code online from the card.
Yes, they’re called ‘minute phones’ or similar terms. Most major electronics places carry them, as do large retailers like Wal-Mart and many convenience stores. You can buy more time; but for the best bargains you still need a credit card or account.
