He will have a small amount of cash. He is very smart, polite, and works hard. He wants to take this chance get out of the US and see more of the world. He would like to find a job and support himself. He has no family or friends there so he’ll be arriving totally alone. His great grandfather going back 11 generations is John Endicott from England. He needs cheap accomodation and access to any kind of work that will support his desire to live there for a year. Any info/experience/suggestions would be appreciated.

I live in Belvidere IL. I use sprint. I have a Belvidere city tax on my bill. Called sprint and they say no way can they do that.
Went to the village hall and they told me they tax cell phone bills 5% for street repairs. They say it has been for years now so you dont have to get a city sticker. Is this legal? Sure seems like a real cash cow for them.
Any ideas on how to fight city hall?

Here in Taiwan, you can go to 7-11 and buy a prepaid SIM card for your cell phone. Every time your account runs out, you can go back to 7-11 and pay cash to recharge your phone. Point is, you pay cash at 7-11 instead of getting a monthly phone bill in the mail. And you pay in advance, so you never owe money. Is there a product like this in the states, where you can go to the store and use cash to pre-pay for your cell phone time?

some people thought it was soooo offensive to talk on the phone while at the cash register, ordering food, or riding in a bus or car… while others thought that their should not be social rules about cell phone when u would hold the same conversation with someone in person while at these same places…

so my question is.. do u think its rude when ppl are on their cell phones while driving, or at resturants or at the cash register or do u think it makes no difference… does someone talking on a cell phone bother you more then someone holding a conversation face to face w/ someone in public…
